A mental health clinic in Prince George’s County since 2008
McGuire Therapeutic Services was founded in 2008, and our Lanham office has been home base ever since. As a therapist in Lanham, MD and an outpatient mental health clinic, we bring counseling, psychiatric assessment and medication management under one roof, with a focus on making quality care reachable for moderate- and low-income families in Prince George’s County.
Our team brings more than 25 years of work with and advocacy for people living with mental illness and developmental disabilities. All of our mental health programs are CARF accredited, and that standard of care shapes how the clinic runs: practical, person-centered and ready to coordinate with your doctors, psychiatrists and social workers so your care stays connected.

Services based at the Lanham office
Nearly everything we offer is available through our Lanham clinic, either in the office, in the community or online. Most people start with individual counseling for anxiety, depression, grief or trauma. If you need a psychiatric evaluation or help with prescriptions, our medication management team works alongside your therapist. Couples, families, teens and older adults are all seen here.
For adults and children who need more day-to-day support, our Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program works with clients on-site and in their homes and communities. For people with complex needs or repeated hospitalizations, our Mobile Treatment Services team provides intensive, community-based care.

Neighborhoods we serve near Lanham
Our Lanham office is central for much of Prince George’s County. Clients regularly join us from Seabrook, New Carrollton, Glenn Dale, Bowie and Greenbelt, and our community-based PRP and mobile treatment staff travel to clients where they live. If you work in D.C. or Annapolis, our location on MD-450 can make it easy to fit a session in before or after your commute.
Because many of our clients rely on Medicaid or a tight household budget, we work to keep care practical: obtaining authorizations, explaining costs up front and offering a sliding scale by application. Wherever you live in the county, call and we’ll help you find the most convenient way to get started, whether that’s in the office, at home or online.
Insurance, fees and your first visit
We accept Maryland Medicaid, Medicare, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna/Evernorth, Johns Hopkins EHP, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, Wellpoint (Amerigroup), Luminare Health and Claritev. Before your first session, we obtain any required authorization and tell you about your copay or deductible, so there are no surprises. The self-pay fee for an individual session is $150, and a sliding scale is available by application. See rates and insurance for details.
Your first appointment is mostly a conversation. Your clinician will ask what brings you in, how things are affecting your sleep, work, relationships and mood, and what you hope will change. You can ask questions too, about approach, confidentiality or how long therapy might take. Completing intake forms online beforehand lets that first hour focus on you rather than paperwork.
Can’t make it to Lanham? Meet by telehealth
If travel, health or childcare makes an office visit hard, you can meet with a Lanham-based clinician by secure video from a computer or smartphone anywhere in Maryland. Many clients mix in-person and online sessions as their week allows. You’ll work with licensed clinicians, and we’ll confirm how your insurance covers telehealth before you start. Montgomery County residents may prefer our Wheaton office. Our PRP and mobile treatment staff also meet eligible clients at home and in the community across Prince George’s County.
We are not an emergency service. If you’re in crisis or thinking about suicide, call, text or chat 988 (free, 24/7), call the Prince George’s County mobile crisis team at 301-429-2185, or call 911.
